Education Services

The Manor House provides an education service for people of all ages. Tours of the house and the collections are available by prior arrangement. Live interpretation events are also organised when characters in costume bring the house to life by re-creating a period from the past.

There are also opportunities for self-directed learning. Staff are on hand to answer enquiries, and there is a regular programme of lectures and workshops. School workshops are linked to the National Curriculum and are based on the house, the collections and temporary exhibitions. We have sets of handling objects on the themes of time and costumes. There are also activities for children every school holiday, ranging from printing to clockmaking.
